The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Party

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative including angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the urban setting.

Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to begin their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

With an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.

Casimir then cleared his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants retribution.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the team reach places they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.

Fugitives

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and The cleric defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by the family.

This leaves them little choice but to travel to the northern region in search of Casimir.

Future Episodes

Based on episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Questers and Schemers parties.

Audiences can anticipate learning which adventurers will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
